2 dead, 3 injured in multiple vehicle crash Sunday in Gray County
A crash involving a vehicle and three motorcycles left two dead and three injured Sunday afternoon in Gray County, near Pampa, according to a press release from the Texas Department of Public Safety.
At around 5 p.m. Sunday, a 2009 Chevrolet Avalanche was heading east on the SH 152 while three Harley Davidson motorcycles were heading west, when the pickup truck crossed the center strip on the wrong side of the roadway and struck the motorcycles. None of the occupants of the motorcycles wore a helmet, the DPS statement said.
Trishelle Miller, 45, of Pampa, the Avalanche driver who was wearing a seat belt at the time, was taken to the Pampa Regional Medical Center with serious injuries.
Kevin Anderson, 59, of Stinnett, who rode a 2020 Harley Davidson motorcycle, died at the scene. He was pronounced dead by Gray County Justice of the Peace Karen Goodman.
Greg Rhoden, 48, of Fritch, who rode a 2005 Harley Davidson motorcycle, was
taken to Pampa Regional Medical Center with serious injuries, where he later died.
Charles Reeves, 52, of Borger, who rode a 2020 Harley Davidson motorcycle, was taken to Amarillo Northwest Texas Hospital with serious injuries and was in critical condition, according to the statement released Monday. Passenger Chanelle Reeves, 58, of Borger, was taken to Amarillo Northwest Texas Hospital with serious injuries and was in critical condition.
The accident took place about three kilometers west of Pampa, where the posted speed limit was 60 mph. The weather conditions at the time were clear and dry, according to the DPS press release.
The incident is being investigated by the Texas Highway Patrol Troopers and is still under investigation.
