Mass Effect 3 – Priority: Horizon Guide
In Mass effect 3, Commander Shepard barely had time to deal with the illusory man and the insane plot he and Cerberus were trying to carry out. At every turn, Cerberus was there, going against all the hard work Shepard had put in to foster alliances and build a stronger galactic force to take on the Reapers. Cerberus had almost become an even greater threat to humanity and the rest of the galaxy than the Reapers, and they had to be stopped.
Admiral Hackett believed Cerberus may have been using a facility called Sanctuary on Horizon as a facade for their infamous plans, but even Hackett couldn’t have imagined what Shepard and their team found there. To make matters worse, Shepard’s former ally, Miranda Lawson, was trying to track down her sister and expose Cerberus and her father. In a race against time, and Cerberus assassin Kai Leng, Shepard fought in a facility filled with Reapers and hideous Cerberus creations to take out Henry Lawson and get to the bottom of the Illusionary Man’s agenda. .
Mission Mass Effect 3: Arrival at the shrine
In the landing zone, explore the entrance and watch a Cerberus shuttle crash into the facility before a Harvester arrives to make sure there are no survivors. As we move closer, two ghosts and a nemesis emerge from the crash of the shuttle. If possible, use Shepard’s equipped sniper rifle to take out ghosts from a distance. Once they are taken care of, collect the recovery worth 1,500 credits and head inside the facility to collect a medical kit. A short cutscene shows a Cerberus shuttle flying above the tower, which becomes the main destination. But first, explore the reception area of the Sanctuary.
Among the desks is a PDA and three audio logs that further shed light on Sanctuary’s treatment protocol. Display the inventory log for 1500 credits, then go down the stairs to the left. There are two crashed shuttles in this area, each containing audio recordings of civilians who have come to the Sanctuary in search of refuge. Back inside, notice the dead Cerberus soldiers and Rachni Ravagers on the ground and proceed carefully to start the next battle.
Take out the Cerberus Troopers and grab the riflescope in front of the desk, then head left and towards the opening titled “Pool Maintenance.” Before entering the entrance, there is a console. Access it to discover a warning from Miranda Lawson (note: if Miranda didn’t survive the suicide mission in ME2, it will instead be her sister, Oriana), ordering people to leave because Sanctuary is not what. ‘it seems. After watching the warning, go to the wall safe for 1,500 credits, then go through the entrance on the left.
Approaching the pool, there is a control panel that drains the water and provides a back door to the Cerberus facility. Climb down the ladder and walk forward as one of Shepard’s teammates points out that the previously overwhelmed tech is Reaper Tech. Go through the doors and go into the second room to find Rosenkov’s Material Shoulder Plate and a scrap piece worth 1,500 credits. Proceed to the next area and walk over to the console to turn on the device. Once power is restored, watch video footage of Cerberus turning shrine guests into hulls, and notice the surviving hulls just beyond the glass.
In the next room is another video of Miranda, and right behind her, Kai Leng can be seen lurking in her wake. There is also a PDA log that offers more information about the procedure Cerberus went through. After accessing the PDA, head to the next area for two more Henry Lawson journals detailing the deception drawing people to Sanctuary, his own experiences, and his work for the Illusionary Man.
Mission Mass Effect 3: The laboratories
These envelopes Shepard saw will pour in through the doors as soon as they are opened and the squad begins to advance through the lab. After taking them all out, walk carefully through the laboratories, which consist of a long corridor divided into two sections. There are several enemies in this area, including Marauders, a Banshee, and a Ravager. Fight them off, then head across the room to the stairs. Inside that area is a medical kit and two other Henry Lawson diaries, one of which details information about Paul Grayson. Go through the door to the right.
It’s time to search the perimeter, which leads to a console with Miranda / Oriana updating her objective, noting that she is heading towards the tower to deactivate the comm jammer. On the left is a data collector worth 1,500 credits and a PDA. At the top of the next set of stairs are more enemies, marauders and cannibals, and several barrier engines. Take them out of the door to avoid being flanked, then go to the right side to pick up the M-12 Locust and the shotgun blade attachment. There is another video diary of Henry Lawson and the Illusionary Man revealing their intention to take control of the Envelopes.
Lower the ladder and go up for another fight, this time with Ravagers and Cannibals. Once they’re all dead, the objective changes to “Search the Perimeter” again, so enter the lab area. There is a medic station near the door and Research Logs on the left which can be picked up for 3000 credits. There is a log on one of the pod tanks that mentions a Reaper weakness. Jump through the gap in the walkway and get ready to shoot the tram panel to activate its movement to the next area.
Mission Mass Effect 3: Find Henry Lawson
When the movement stops and Shepard reaches the final area, there are two Brutes and a Banshee. Stay in cover and try not to move too fast to avoid facing all three at once. Once they have been removed, grab the medical kit on the left side of the hallway, then head down the hall. There is research data worth 4,500 credits and a hologram pod order switch. Activate the switch, then return to the empty capsule to retrieve the M-99 saber.
To the right is an elevator that will take Shepard to the tower. On arrival are the sounds of gunshots. Hurry to find Henry Lawson holding Oriana at gunpoint. At this point, many options depend on the events leading up to the meeting. If Shepard has a high enough Renegade / Paragon score, they can convince Lawson to let Oriana go. There’s a Renegade interrupt that will allow Shepard to kill him, or they can ignore him and offer him the opportunity to run for his life. If the second action is taken and Miranda is present, she will detonate her father with biotics, sending him to collapse upon his death, but not before fatally injuring Miranda.
There are conditions as to whether or not Miranda survives the encounter. If Shepard did not complete his Loyalty Mission by ME2, or they didn’t warn her about Kai Leng before she went to the Shrine, she will die. If Shepard did not grant her access to Alliance resources during their meeting in the Citadel apartment, or if they did not meet her, she will die. If she was in love with Shepard and they broke up with her onscreen in ME3, she will die. But it doesn’t matter if they ended their relationship in Game 2 or if they locked themselves into another romance before meeting her at the Citadel.
If Miranda isn’t around and Shepard doesn’t have a high enough reputation to charm or intimidate Henry Lawson, they can shoot Oriana in the leg as a distraction. If Renegade actions are not taken to kill her father, Oriana will drag him back and they both collapse to death. Whichever sister is there, the comm jammer is off. If it was Miranda and she survived, she placed a tracker on Kai Leng who will help Shepard locate the Illusory Man base of operations. If Miranda is absent, Admiral Hackett instead uses the data found at Sanctuary to locate the illusory man.
